At Birch Nannies, we believe it’s imperative that nannies are both CPR and First Aid certified and that this should be a requirement of any nanny contract. We make this process seamless and are proud to announce our newest partnership with Elite First Response Safety Training Services. Kevin and his wife Carla, (An amazing Atlanta area Birch Nanny.) own and operate this fantastic company with a tailored suite of services that cater to your busy schedules like virtual class training, in-person and group classes, as well as private sessions in which they will even come to your home!

It’s a scary thought for parents to think about emergencies happening to their little ones.
Parents and caregivers alike would love to imagine that these types of events will never pop up or impact their children, but that’s why it’s so important to take a proactive position and be prepared for such events.  Accidents can happen anytime even under the best nanny’s (or parent’s) watchful eye.

Kevin Hathorn is a Basic Life Support Instructor under the American Heart Association. He has years of experience in training and certifying individuals in Adult/Child/Infant CPR, First Aid, and AED using American Heart Association curriculum. Kevin is also the co-owner of Elite First Response Safety Training Services, LLC with his wife Carla. He has helped several organizations that cater to children by equipping staff with First Response Safety Training.

In the Words of Kevin:

I feel that First Response Safety training is extremely important when it comes to ensuring the safety of children. Knowing what to do in the time of a crisis is comforting to parents when leaving their children in the care of others. The reality is, equipping yourself with the knowledge of life saving techniques such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and other safety procedures can help save a life. I love this quote by Max Mayfield “Preparation through education is less costly than learning through tragedy”.
